Ratto Bros.
Since 1905, Ratto Bros. has been owned and operated in the family tradition started by Antone L. Ratto. The son of Italian immigrants, Antone grew his own vegetables on Bay Farm Island near Oakland and personally delivered his vegetables to his customers in a horse-drawn cart.
Antone was blessed with five sons who followed in their father’s footsteps to become farmers themselves. Collectively, the brothers formed the Ratto Bros. partnership in 1957. Looking to expand their operations in 1962, Ratto Bros. gravitated to the fertile San Joaquin Valley near Modesto, where they added several hundred acres of prime farmland to their operations.
One hundred years and several generations later, the Ratto family still grows their own vegetables and cultivates personal relationships with each of their customers. Ratto Bros. offers more than 70 varieties of delicious herbs, leafy greens, fruits, and other vegetables throughout the year.
