Refrig­er­a­tion and Facil­ity Main­te­nance Technician

Job Title: Refrig­er­a­tion and Facil­ity Main­te­nance Tech­ni­cian
Employee Sta­tus: Reg­u­lar, Full-​time, Hourly
Work Sched­ule: Mon­day – Fri­day

Pri­mary Pur­pose:
The Refrig­er­a­tion and Facil­ity Main­te­nance Tech­ni­cian, main­tains, eval­u­ates, repairs and assists in the instal­la­tion of all refrig­er­a­tion, heat­ing, ven­ti­lat­ing, and air con­di­tion­ing sys­tems in the ware­house and offices.

Sam­ple of Essen­tial Func­tions:
1. Assist with any and all repairs, remodel and con­struc­tion projects as directed by the depart­ment man­ager.
2. Main­tain ser­vice records and data­base for the facil­ity and all refrig­er­a­tion equip­ment as directed by the depart­ment man­ager.
3. Col­lect and ana­lyze data on refrig­er­a­tion equip­ment to eval­u­ate effec­tive­ness and make rec­om­men­da­tions to improve func­tion­al­ity.
4. Par­tic­i­pate in the trou­bleshoot­ing, con­struc­tion, instal­la­tion and/​or repair of any project as directed by the depart­ment man­ager.

Sam­ple of Qual­i­fi­ca­tions:
1. Has a good under­stand­ing of refrig­er­a­tion sys­tems and their work­ings.
2. Abil­ity to read and fol­low blue­prints to com­plete projects.
3. Work­ing knowl­edge of hydraulic sys­tems.
4. Must have basic Com­puter skills.
5. Abil­ity to per­form the pri­mary func­tions of this posi­tion with or with­out rea­son­able accom­mo­da­tion.

Edu­ca­tion and Expe­ri­ence:
High School grad­u­ate. Pre­fer appli­cant has prac­ti­cal expe­ri­ence. But at a min­i­mum, is a grad­u­ate of a cer­ti­fied refrig­er­a­tion school. Must have a valid Cal­i­for­nia Dri­ver License and 608 Cer­ti­fi­ca­tion.

Deliv­ery Route Truck Driver

Pri­mary Pur­pose:
The Com­mer­cial Deliv­ery Route Truck Dri­ver deliv­ers pro­duce and other prod­ucts to Gen­eral Pro­duce cus­tomers.

Essen­tial func­tions:
1. Pro­vide extra­or­di­nary cus­tomer ser­vice by exceed­ing cus­tomer expec­ta­tions in the fol­low­ing areas:

  • Checks, ver­i­fies, and quan­ti­fies prod­uct to cus­tomer invoice and deliv­ers said mer­chan­dise accu­rately, safely and efficiently.
  • Col­lects money from cus­tomers, makes change, and records trans­ac­tions on cus­tomer receipt.
  • Places stock and/​or rotates stock per cus­tomer request.
  • Col­lects or picks up empty con­tain­ers or rejected or unsold merchandise.
  • Com­pletes credit/​debit forms as necessary.

2. Record sales or deliv­ery infor­ma­tion on daily sales or deliv­ery record.
3. Lis­ten and com­mu­ni­cate with office to resolve ser­vice com­plaints.
4. Load and unload trucks
5. Per­form rou­tine main­te­nance on truck; i.e. adjusts mir­rors, cleans wind­shields, changes bulbs
6. Oper­ate deliv­ery trucks safely and con­forms to DOT, CHP and CVC reg­u­la­tions, laws, codes and poli­cies
7. May pick up pro­duce at pro­duce houses, pack­ing sheds and ware­houses for back haul to ware­house.

Qual­i­fi­ca­tions:
1. Valid Cal­i­for­nia Class B Com­mer­cial Dri­ver License with air brake endorse­ment or Class C Dri­ver License.
2. Dri­ving record must con­form to com­pany pol­icy and show no DUIs.
3. Basic writ­ing, read­ing and speak­ing Eng­lish lan­guage skills.
4. Cus­tomer ser­vice skills; abil­ity to read maps.
5. Some basic tech­no­log­i­cal pro­fi­ciency required to oper­ate cell phones.

Edu­ca­tion and Expe­ri­ence:
High School grad­u­ate or equiv­a­lent and/​or one year expe­ri­ence dri­ving a com­mer­cial truck. Gen­eral Pro­duce prefers some expe­ri­ence work­ing in the pro­duce indus­try. Expe­ri­ence work­ing in food dis­tri­b­u­tion is also pre­ferred.

Phys­i­cal Demands:

  1. Reg­u­larly lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.
  2. Sit for long peri­ods of time, while dri­ving, stoop, stand, kneel, crouch, push and pull.
  3. Pos­sess vision abil­i­ties to include close vision, color vision, and abil­ity to adjust focus.

Pri­mary Pur­pose:
The Order Selec­tor, Production/​Swing Shift selects prod­ucts in the ware­house and other areas to sat­isfy cus­tomer orders. He/​she also receives and stores prod­ucts within the ware­house and sur­round­ing areas.

Essen­tial func­tions:
1. Read cus­tomer orders to deter­mine items to be selected and gath­ered.

2. Select and move prod­ucts for each order from refrig­er­ated rooms in the ware­house and other areas.
3. Assem­ble ordered prod­ucts by cus­tomers and place orders in stacks.

Qual­i­fi­ca­tions:
1. Abil­ity to work in a team envi­ron­ment.
2. Must pos­sess excep­tional work ethics and depend­abil­ity.
3. Abil­ity to learn to oper­ate fork­lifts and other mate­r­ial trans­port machines.

Edu­ca­tion and Expe­ri­ence:
High School grad­u­ate and 1 year expe­ri­ence in pro­duce ware­house envi­ron­ment pre­ferred.
